are all proprietary for alarm liability and better reliability than Zwave devices. I had the same initial misconceptions when I bought my ST hub and see this over and over again on the ST forums - Unless someone smarter than me (and there are indeed many here knows different, there is NO REAL WAY for the SmartThings to control or sense any alarm features or alarm devices in the 2GIG or vice versa! Really same goes for most other alarm systems that dabble Zwave like GC - the contacts, motions, image sensors, smokes, etc. I don’t know if there is a way to accomplish that, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable can comment. I thought about adding them directly to the panel, but since making it a secondary controller, I cannot add devices directly. Either way, for me it’s not a huge loss since the RTS had a tendency to heat my house well past the setpoint (happened twice, once using averaging and once with direct control.) I decided it wasn’t wort it for me to get them to work, but it did work fine as a temp sensor. I don’t know if it’s because of an incompatabiltiy, or because I added the RTS after I paired the 2gig. The sensor does show up in the 2gig as a device, but does not show up in. They do pair with Smartthings, but they just come up as an inactive sensor. After I added the 2gig as a secondary controller, I decided to try and add the remote temperature sensor for the heck of it. I didn’t have much luck with the remote temperature sensor. ![]() They appear to be working just fine as before. I can control them from website and app. So they show up, but the controls don’t really appear to work. The thermostats appear in the Smartthings app, but they’re not supported by Smartthings. ![]() I paired the thermostats with a STv2, and then used “learn controller” to add the 2gig to the STv2.
